>Dating a Banker

>First, I would like to thank the NY Times for (as always) keeping me wildly entertained on my Saturday mornings when I work. I stumbled across this article – most def a diamond in a haystack.
Apparently a support group has formed for women who are dating bankers in these troubled economic times, a group appropriately named, Dating a Banker Anonymous. They have meetings and a blog, giving the members a chance to vent about their “troubles.”

“Once it was seen as a blessing in certain circles to have a wealthy, powerful partner who would leave you alone with the credit card while he was busy brokering deals. Now, many Wall Street wives, girlfriends and, increasingly, exes, are living the curse of cutbacks in nanny hours and reservations at Masa or Megu. And that credit card? Canceled.”

Haha, I LOVE this. The blog can entertain for hours (okay, mayb just an hour, but still). According to the blog, not living the dating a banker anonymous dream includes:
1) living in the suburbs 2) wearing Ann Taylor 3) eating at non-Zagat reviewed restaurants 4) single at 40 or married to mediocrity 5) having to wear sensible shoes 6) living in a home with wall-to-wall carpeting 7) having to do laundry 8 ) missing out 9) forced to live sans access to Sally Hershberger 10) taking life too seriously.

Whether this is a joke or not, it’s still awes. Case in point: Tyra Banks was the DABA girl of the day on Friday. If you read just one thing on that blog though, pleeeeease make it the story “Bottle Poppin’ Girls” dated February 3rd. For whatev reason I can’t link directly to that story, but I assure you it’s worth the scrolling.
